Ninh explains candlepin bowling
Candlepin bowling is an incredibly difficult variation of the sport. It is 10 pin bowling but the pins are tall and narrow and the ball weighs 4 pounds (with no holes). Players get 3 shots to knock down all the pins. It is scored exactly like bowling except that all pins down on 3 shots is a score of 10 with no carryover. The highest score ever achieved in candlepin is 245. a 150 average is Hall of Fame stuff.
