Six Nations Championship
The Six Nations Championship is an annual European competition. The International teams of six "nations" compete in a single round robin with no playoffs or championship match. The nations are: England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, and Italy. It is played in late winter and early spring. Teams that sweep the round robin are said to have won the "Grand Slam". It has been contested in one form or another since 1883.
